British Chevening Scholarships in UK

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship and fellowships program. It is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations. It a unique opportunity for the next generation of leaders, influencers, and decision-makers to develop a relationship with the UK that will grow throughout their careers.

The scholarships are awarded to individuals who demonstrate leadership potential and strong academic backgrounds. It offers full financial support to study for any eligible master’s degree at any UK university while gaining access to a wide range of exclusive academic, professional, and cultural experiences. Chevening Scholars study subjects in almost any field, and go on to implement their ideas for positive change in a range of sectors.

Scholarships Value

A Chevening Scholarship covers the following:

  • University tuition fees,
  • Monthly living allowance,
  • Travelling airfare to the UK, and
  • Additional grants and allowances to cover essential expenditure.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country.
  • Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended
  • Have an undergraduate degree that will certify your entry into a post-graduate programme at a UK university
  • At least  attain an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK
  • Have at least two years’ work experience
  • Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices.
  • Meet the Chevening English language requirement by either by taking an English language test or claiming an exemption based on the UKVI exempt categories

How to Apply

Application for the British Chevening Scholarships in UK are to be carried online via its online application system. After submitting your application, it will be assessed against Chevening’s eligibility criteria. Applications that are deemed eligible will then be assessed by independent reading committees, who will create a long-list of applicants.
