Clarendon Scholarship at University of Oxford

The University of Oxford, UK offers the Clarendon Scholarship to international students who wish to undergo graduate studies at the university. The Clarendon funds allocates over 200 new and fully funded scholarship each year to academically outstanding graduate scholars.

The Clarendon Fund gets its name from its close relationship with Oxford University Press (OUP) and in honour of an act of philanthropy by the Earl of Clarendon. The fund aims to achieve the following –

  • Advance the University’s objective for furthering excellence in research and education at Oxford.
  • To assist academically outstanding graduate students through their studies at the University of Oxford.

Clarendon has many valued partners throughout Oxford and beyond, who through their generous support, enable the University to fund as many as 40 additional scholarships each year.

Level of Study: Master and PhD Degree Program.

Scholarship Value of Clarendon Scholarship

Clarendon offers fully-funded scholarships covering course fees. It also serve as a grant for living expenses for the period of fee liability.

Eligibility Criteria

An outstanding academic record – An excellent academic record is essential. The majority of successful scholars usually have at least a first class honours degree or its equivalent.

Future potential and aptitude – Particular consideration is given to an applicant’s future academic potential and aptitude of the proposed course of study.

Student motivation – assessed through evidence of the applicant’s commitment to the proposed course as well as evaluation of the personal statement and the referees’ reports.

How To Apply

There is no separate application for the scholarship. Once a candidate apply for a full-time or part-time Master’s or DPhil at University of Oxford by the relevant January deadline for your course, you will be automatically considered for a Clarendon scholarship.
