Graduate Scholarship at KNU South Korea

Kyungpook National University, South Korea offers scholarships to its domestic and International graduate students. The scholarship is for students who wish to undergo undergraduate studies or further their study for masters and PhD in South Korea. The scholarship aims to attract international students for further studies at the university.

KNU is one of ten Flagship Korean National Universities representing Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongbuk Province in South Korea. It is majorly known for its Philosophy, Politics, and Economics courses and as well as offers undergraduate programs which houses 17 colleges and 74 Departments; graduate course with 146 Masters and 133 PhD programs. It also offers diverse learning opportunities for international students through exposure to Korean and the university culture.

As a way of supporting both domestic and international students, the university offers the following scholarships:

  • TOPIK Scholarships for Undergraduate Students
  • KNU International Graduate Scholarship(KINGS)

Level of Study: Graduate, Master and PhD Degree Programme

Field of Study: Any course offered at the university.

Targeted Students: All international students.

Number of Scholarship: Available to 70 to 210 slots available to applicants.

Benefits of the Scholarship

The scholarship is an 100% tuition fee with duration as follows:

  • Master’s & Doctoral programs: Maximum two (2) years starting from first semester
  • Combined Master’s & Doctoral program: Maximum four (4) years starting from first semester

Also, the scholarships will be reviewed after every semester and continuation of a scholarship into another semester is not guaranteed.

Eligibility and Value

For TOPIK Scholarships for Undergraduate Students: Scholarships for students who complete 2 semesters of the KNU Korean Language Program(as of Nov. 10th, 2023). Scholarship for 16-20% of the tuition fee for the first semester.

For KNU International Graduate Scholarship(KINGS): Applicant must be a newly enrolled graduate student. Students recommended by department after the department screening by the ranking order. For new students, the scholarship has 70 slots available and covers 100% tuition fee.

For already enrolled students, applicant must be an international graduate students scheduled for next semester who received higher than a B0 grade in the previous semester. The scholarship has 210 slots available for international students and covers 100% tuition fee.

Application Procedure

There is no special application for the scholarship. All interested students who have applied and received an offer of admission to Kyungpook National University, South Korea, are automatically considered for international
