International Scholarships at University of Winchester


The University of Winchester, UK offers a range of international scholarships and Bursaries for all international and domestic students. These scholarships are for the 2023 – 2024 academic session and for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The aim of the scholarships is to provide financial support to students willing to pursue a degree programme at the university. The scholarships are categorized into Undergraduate and Postgraduate scholarships.

The Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship: Available for Vietnamese or Thai postgraduate taught applicants to the University of Winchester who, as part of their UK studies, contribute to the University’s international strategy.

Value: £5,000 per country.

International Taught Masters Scholarship: The International students scholarship is available to all International (non EU) students applying for a postgraduate taught programme at the University.

Value: £1,000.

Peacewin scholarships:For Distance Learning MA in Reconciliationand MA Reconciliation and Peacebuilding.

Value : £1,500, along with access to free training sessions and work shadowing.

Helena Kennedy Foundation: The HKF Award: For all prospective foundation and undergraduate students who are currently attending a UK FE college or Sixth Form, and who are experiencing difficulties funding their higher education.

Level of Study:Undergraduate Degree

Postgraduate International Scholarships

Chevening Scholarships: Open to prospective masters students from Chevening-eligible countries.

Value:Tuition fees, a monthly stipend, travel costs to and from the UK, an arrival allowance, a homeward departure allowance, one visa application, and a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK.

CommonWealth Scholarships:For prospective postgraduate students who are permanently resident in developing Commonwealth countries.

Level of Study: Masters and PhD Degree

Value:Tuition and examination fees, a monthly stipend, travel costs to and from the UK, thesis grant (if applicable), warm clothing allowance (if applicable), study travel grant, and some specific grants for PhD Scholars and if the scholarship is at least 18 months long.

Euraxess UK:For Graduate researchers from any country.

Level of Study: PhD and Research Studies.

Aga Khan Foundation Scholarships:For Prospective postgraduate students from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar and Mozambique.

Level of Study:Postgraduate Degree

Value:Tuition fees and living expenses (half of the scholarship is a loan).

Fulbright Commission – All Disciplines Postgraduate Award: For Prospective masters and PhD students from the USA (any residency except the UK).

Value:£12,700 outside Greater London rate.
