University of Toronto Canada Scholarship

University of Toronto, Canada offers a number of scholarships programs with the aim of funding student’s higher education in Canada. The scholarship is a humanitarian scheme sponsored solely by the University of Toronto, Canada to help high achieving academically minded students from developing countries especially in Africa.

The University of Toronto is a research university in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the grounds that surround Queen’s Park and was founded by royal charter in 1827 as King’s College. It is the first institution of higher learning in Upper Canada. The university assumed its present name in 1850 upon becoming a secular institution. As a collegiate university, it comprises 11 colleges each with substantial autonomy on financial and institutional affairs and significant differences in character and history. The university maintains three campuses, the oldest of which is St. George, located in downtown Toronto. The other two satellite campuses are located in Scarborough and Mississauga. The University of Toronto has evolved into Canada’s leading institution of learning, discovery and knowledge creation. It is ranked #25 in QS World University Rankings 2025.

The University of Toronto offers awards to Canadian and international students on the basis of criteria such as financial need, academic merit, Indigenous background, first generation students, and students who demonstrated leadership qualities. For some the scholarships, a separate supplementary application must be submitted for these awards. 

Level/Field of Study: Bachelors and Masters Degree Program in any course offered by the university.

Number of Scholarships: Up to 6.

Scholarship Value

Students with excellent academic records will be automatically be awarded scholarship worth $10,000 strictly on merit as selection will be based on student’s previous academic information and done by the selection committee.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Scholarships are for Domestic (Canadian) and International prospective students.
  • Students enrolling to pursue masters degree program in the field of Computer Engineering, Systems Design Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering at the university.
  • Candidates must be completed a year 12 with a minimum of 70% marks or equivalent.
  • An applicant must have a strong and excellence academic background.

How to Apply

Candidate’s selection will be done by the selection committee which will be automatic upon admission and dependent on the information supplied on the application form.

Document Requirements: As part of requirement during application for admission, following documents will be required – academic details, language ability score or certificate scan, copy of the passport or maybe a personal information card.
